René Therrien has been appointed interim director of the Institut nordique du Québec (INQ). Professor Therrien has a long-standing relationship with INQ, having chaired its Implementation Committee from 2014 to 2019 while he was Vice-Dean of Research at Université Laval's Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Currently a full professor in the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering, of which he is also director, Professor Therrien will assume this new role until Professor Jean-Éric Tremblay returns from sabbatical leave on May 1, 2025.
